Gianni Diamanto Jovanovic (he/his) arbeitet als Unternehmer, Aktivist, Künstler und Autor.
Gianni Jovanovic ist der Sohn einer Roma-Familie. 1978 wurde er in Rüsselsheim geboren. Mit 14 Jahren verheirateten ihn seine Eltern. Mit 16 wurde er Vater eines Sohnes. Mit 17 folgte Kind Nummer 2 – seine Tochter. Anfang 20 outete sich Gianni Jovanovic als homosexuell und trennte sich von seiner Ehefrau. Inzwischen ist er zweifacher Großvater und seit 15 Jahren glücklich mit seinem Ehemann zusammen. Zu seinen Kindern hat er einen engen Kontakt. Als Aktivist engagiert er sich für die Rechte von Roma & Sinti. Außerdem ist er Unternehmer und Performer.
Queer Roma (2015 bis heute): Gianni Jovanovic ist Gründer der Initiative „Queer Roma“.
Colours of Change (2020): Rassismus betrifft alle Lebensbereiche und macht auch vor der Queer Community nicht halt. Deshalb initiierte Gianni Jovanovic das Kollektiv Colours auf Change. Mit seinen Mitstreiter*innen stellte er das das Programm für eine Kundgebung auf die Beine. Das gemeinsame Ziel: mehr Solidarität mit Schwarzen Menschen und People of Colour in der Queer Community.
Ich, ein Kind der kleinen Mehrheit (2022): Gemeinsam mit seiner besten Freundin, der Journalistin Oyindamola Alashe, veröffentlicht sein erstes Sachbuch bei Aufbau Verlage. Darin verarbeitet er nicht nur seine eigene Biographie, sondern beschäftigt sich auch mit der strukturellen und jahrhundertelangen Diskriminierung von Sinti*zze und Rom*nja.
#KleineMehrheiten (2022-bis heute): Unter dem Label geht Gianni Jovanovic nicht nur mit Oyindamola Alashe und der Sängerin Celina Bostic auf Lesereise. Mit Oyindamola Alashe kreiert er auch das empowernde Showformat #KleineMehrheiten „WeARThere“. Dafür holen die Gianni und Oyindamola Künstler*innen aus den Bereichen Comedy, Tanz, Gesang oder Spoken Word auf die interkulturelle Bühne. 2023 rufen sie außerdem ein neues Talk-Format ins Leben: die #KleineMehrheiten „Couchgespräche“. Darin besprechen sie mit ihren Gäst*innen beispielsweise Themen wie Diskriminierung im Gesundheits- oder Bildungssystem.
Drag Race Germany (2023): Seit September 2023 ist Gianni als Co-Host der Show zu sehen. An der Seite von Hostess Barbie Breakout moderiert er die Reality TV-Serie beim Streamingdienst Paramount+.
Gianni Jovanovic bietet Workshops an und beschäftigt sich darin mit Roma & Sinti, Intersektionaler Diskriminierung, Persönlichkeitsentwicklung von Männern, Queer Roma sowie Empowerment & LGBTIQ.

Gianni Diamanto Jovanovic (he/his) works as an entrepreneur, activist, artist, and author.
Gianni Jovanovic is the son of a Roma family. He was born in Rüsselsheim in 1978. At the age of 14, his parents married him off. At 16, he became the father of a son. At 17, his second child followed – his daughter. In his early twenties, Gianni Jovanovic came out as gay and separated from his wife. He is now a grandfather of two and has been happily married to his husband for 15 years. He maintains close contact with his children. As an activist, he is committed to the rights of Roma and Sinti people. He is also an entrepreneur and performer.
Queer Roma (2015 to present): Gianni Jovanovic is the founder of the „Queer Roma“ initiative.
Colours of Change (2020): Racism affects all areas of life and does not stop at the queer community. Therefore, Gianni Jovanovic initiated the Colours of Change collective. Together with his fellow activists, he organized the program for a rally. The common goal: more solidarity with Black people and People of Color in the queer community.
Ich, ein Kind der kleinen Mehrheit (2022): Together with his best friend, the journalist Oyindamola Alashe, he published his first non-fiction book with Aufbau Verlag. In it, he not only reflects on his own biography but also addresses the structural and centuries-long discrimination against Sintizze and Romnja people.
KleineMehrheiten (2022-present): Under this label, Gianni Jovanovic goes on reading tours not only with Oyindamola Alashe and the singer Celina Bostic. Together with Oyindamola Alashe, he also created the empowering show format #KleineMehrheiten „WeARThere“. For this, Gianni and Oyindamola bring artists from the fields of comedy, dance, singing, and spoken word to the intercultural stage. In 2023, they also launched a new talk show format: the #KleineMehrheiten „Couch Conversations.“ In these conversations, they discuss topics such as discrimination in the healthcare and education systems with their guests.
Drag Race Germany (2023): Since September 2023, Gianni has been a co-host of the show. Alongside host Barbie Breakout, he co-hosts the reality TV series on the streaming service Paramount+.
Gianni Jovanovic offers workshops focusing on Roma and Sinti, intersectional discrimination, men’s personal development, queer Roma, and empowerment & LGBTIQ+ issues.
